Hi everyone, I need your help please.
I'm about to employ a nanny and in the process of checking her papers.
What do I need to look at ?
I'm thinking original DBS certificate ?
Ofsted registration certificate?
ID checks- passport etc + utility bill/ driving licence etc

Do I need to keep copies of them? Many thanks in advance !

If you are checking Ofsted certificate there is a number and you can ring Ofsted and check registration.
Unless it is her first year of registration her certificate will not have a current date. Ofsted charge £103 to renew the registration but don't re issue the certificate or repeat the DBS check.
She can show you her invoice for payment of renewal only.
Check passport to confirm British if from abroad check she has permission to work in UK (you could be prosecuted otherwise).
Check first aid certificate is recent.
