I also tried greataupairs last time and they were not good, lots of non-Eu candidates so no good for VISAs.

You can always try gumtree if you're in London or home counties.

There are also often Facebook pages for au pairs in your local area and they don't mind host mums advertising on those. You usually need to ask to join though.

Au pair world is by far the best and you're most likely to find someone quickly on there.

I've managed to recruit within 10 days on AP World in the past. It's definitely the best IME.

We too have had an ap in 10 days off ap world. Was already in the country. Grin

Great Aupair, staff rude when asked questions, candidates suggested were totally unsuitable, (got pestered by a 40 year old grandmother with a 7 year old grandchild needing accomodation and schooling, not an good au pair candidate). I would avoid.
Aupair world is great. Good luck!

thanks will continue with AP world, the Skypes have begun already, fingers crossed. If anyone has their list of best questions, would be great to hear them!

Re questions: i keep it basic: hobbies interessts, music, education, what do they want to do after aupairing. If the conversation flows and you get on its a big plus. If they ask good questions back that show that they have thought this through : ie mobile? Insurance? Policecheck? Tell me about the kids? Typical working day? Other aupairs in area? Thats a big plus!
