Temp nanny contracts

I'm a contractor and a new position for a 3 month contract (which may or may not be renewed) is coming up. There is a nanny agency locally but they pay their nannies 7.60 per hour and charge 12 ph so I'd rather be able to hire someone directly, but on a temp basis.

Anybody know where I can find a contract for this or is this a legal minefield? Also, are there any restrictions on who you can hire as a nanny in terms of qualifications, never hired one before.

There are no restrictions on who you can hire as a nanny. A lot of people prefer someone who is Ofsted registered so that they can use childcare vouchers to pay them, but it's not a requirement.

I can't see why employing someone on a temp contract would be a legal minefield, but I don't know enough to guarantee you that it isn't. It is maybe worth getting in touch with nannytax or payefornannies who operate payroll for nanny employers. They should be able to advise you of any legal issues and will provide contracts if you 'sign up' with them.

Thanks I'll contact them!
