What are your experiences with this? I have my first sitters.com babysitter coming tomorrow to sit my 4 month year old. I haven't seen a picture or much of a profile although I have seen her references.

A maternity nurse I had recommended this site to me.

I work for them as a sitter. I was very very thoroughly vetted to be registered. More thoroughly than any nanny or maternity agency I have been registered with in the past!
I also use them as a parent and haven't had any issues so far....

Where my friend wasnt vetted that well. Never met anyone in person and some of her referencees weren't contacted .....

May just be that branch ......

I won't wirk through sitters as rubbish pay - but I wohod have thought that you as their client would have been sent a photo/description profile /cv etc

Did you personally check her refs?

I've used them a lot and would recommend. Only one I wasn't happy with in 8 years and that was due to poor English, they actually removed her straight away.

All the others have been great and its really convenient.

i work for sitters. I was vetted by a lady in North london. It took a few weeks of her trying to get hold of my old bosses and my application couldn't be put forward until she had spoken to them. And I think parents literally just get sent the sitters contact details age not actually what expeience they have. Most of the sitters on the books are nursery nursery nannys etc. But personally for a young baby i would of rather met the babysitter before hand find out in depth their childcare expeience.

We used them for the first time a couple of weeks back, my children are older. The sitter had an id badge when she arrived, so even though we didn't have a photo in advance, we knew who she was.
She was great with the kids and the experience was very positive. I'd arranged for her to arrive 30 mins early so we could have a chat and make sure the children were ok with her.

We've used them a few times. I got basic details about them - works in a nursery, has their own children, but nothing specific.

They've all been fine. Had one I wouldn't have back, but nothing wrong with her - kids were fine. She just didn't appear to engage with them. We've had some who have been fabulous.

Mostly we've had them at night, though, and we've always put the DC to bed as/just after they arrive, so not much for them to do.
