I AM A CHILDMINDER AND I HAVE A CLIENT WHO WORKS DIFFERENT HOURS EACH WEEK ON DIFFERENT DAYS, AND IT IS USUALLY AFTER 4PM-7PM OR SOMETIMES WEEKENDS. AS THIS VARIES SHE HAS BEEN PAYING TO KEEP THESE HOURS AVAILABLE ALL WEEK BUT NO LONGER WANTS TO DO THIS SO NOW I AM STUCK AS HOW TO CHARGE HER AS SHE ALSO CLAIMS HER COSTS THROUGH TAX CREDITS AND THEY WONT ACCEPT A DIFFERENT FIGURE EACH WEEK IT HAS TO BE A FIXED AMOUNT.ANY ADVICE PLEASE?!!!!!!!!!! IF THAT MAKES ANY SENSE.LOL!!

as its unsociable hours and even weekends i would still say you have to charge a retainer fee or charge a higher hourly rate, what do you think of a higher hourly rate do you think she would be ok with this, sorry i can't help more but as its all different hours and different days you are still keeping that space available for the LO so i would charge more

I would charge her a fixed fee each week - she can't have her cake & eat it

You either need to have her pay for the hours she might use or allow you to book someone else into that space

YEAS, I HAVE BEEN CHARGING HER A FIXED FEE FOR THE HOURS SHE MIGHT USE, BUT AS THEY HAVE CUT DOWN HER HOURS SHE DOESNT WANT TO PAY FOR THE WHOLE WEEK NOW.
NOT SURE IF SHE IS JUST FEEDING ME CRAP COS SHE IS FED UP PAYING FOR THE WHOLE WEEK.
I THINK I WILL HAVE TO PERHAPS JUST CHARGE A HIGHER RATE AS ITS NORMALLY SHORT NOTICE TOO.
