Hello

I have just read the post about babydays and was goin to use that but I'm not now, so how else do you record daily diaries,
A diary per child written in each day?
Just verbally?
Email/text?
Thanks in advance.

Parents view, if that's ok?

Our current CM has paper diaries and fills them in each day. Each page has a section for arrival and departure times, food, nappies, and then a box for notes and she just writes a little description of what they've done and how DD has been.

Our previous CM used to send a weekly spreadsheet that was a bit more basic but still told you what they'd been doing during the week and made any notes about DD. We provided lunch though so didn't need to know as much detail about the day.

I bought an A4 diary and fill it out each day, how the children were, what we did, any accidents. I don't include food as I cook for everyone and they eat everything. If they are hungrier and eat loads or don't eat well I will include this. It covers both children.
I do give a short synopsis of their day at handover time too.
I do sometimes send photos/texts during the day if they have said/ done something really sweet.
I put the photos and videos I have taken onto cd's along with music for the parents for Christmas each year.

Why are you against baby's days?
Seems a good system. I've started using & parents love 4 diaries etc

As a parent I really don't need a written diary, I'd much rather a brief verbal handover. If you don't have time for that then an email would be better than bits of paper.
