I'm sure it's has been done before but just wondered what are your top 5 toys/resources for different aged children. I feel like I need a bit more variety & looking to add to my toy collection. Mine are:
Pre-schoolers - cars, train track, play buggies & dolls, happyland/little people, lego duplo fire set & bricks in general.

Schoolies - Hama beads & jewellery making, games (connect 4, hungry hippos, happy families, top trumps, jungle bashers etc) lego, playmobile hospital & police station, dressing up.

Have you got a play kitchen or shop that could be turned into all sorts of things from a shop to a cafe to a tourist attraction ticket office.

Favourites :

Anything to do with glue or paint
Old sheets
Water

Old sheets is a good idea (presumably for den building?). We've got a play kitchen outside & they love it but not enough space for more big stuff inside. I'm really hoping to create a few boxes of toys I can store away & rotate.

Den building, superhero capes, teddy bear picnic mats. Basically children can find 101 things to do with an old sheet :)

Our favourite box of toys is the Peppa pig stuff. I bought a job lot of second hand Peppa toys from ebay for about £20. They spend hours with it. From the toddlers to the school age ones. They may refuse to watch Peppa as they are to old, but they still love the make believe imagination with the figures.

My other half made me a shop front from an old cardboard box that get used loads!!

Puppets, train set, I have some Mickey Mouse shopping bags I brought from book man that get used for all sorts. Mine are also into den and cave making at the moment. We are using torches and reading in the dark. Lots of good fun!!

Mine love handbags at the moment - and dressing up in general really, books, peg puzzles, play cooking and instruments.

leeloo1 - agreed. All my old handbags and purses are in the dressing up and are always used.

Agree it's been really helpful.
What about older, say 6-9 yr old children, what are their favourites?
