Willing to spend some money but not sure what I need?

Having a bit of a time of it with DS. Had terrible PND with my last so
Thought I would suck it up and spend some money getting some help. My baby is only two weeks old (so wouldn't want her just yet) but am wondering what is the best move.

Hiring someone who is basically a
Mothers helper? Or getting a maternity nurse? A Norland style nanny who will hammer out a routine or a more ordinary nanny who will do say a morning or two a week with some expressed milk stashed just so I can get some rest?

And then how do I go about it? Given that this will be temporary and likely part time. It seems odd to basically hire someone for two mornings a week for three months or something. Should I formally advertise or maybe ask
Around the playground. I do know some nannies from around who work part time and seem nice but is that what I'm after?

Hi maybe a post natal doula and/or a maternity night nanny so have a doula 2-3 mornings/afternoon and a night nanny 2 nights a week or even one if that's all you can afford.

Alternatively you could hire a mother's help perhaps consider when you need this is the teatime bathtime bedtime a busy time with an older one as well if so someone 4-7pm daily for 2-3 mths May be of more help.

Are you in London? After DC3, I hired a really lovely girl to help me and she did 25 hours flexible over 4 days. She'd been a nursery nurse, so I paid for a morton michel baby care course and a first aid course (with the proviso that it was paid back if she left within six months - so I paid in arrears).

She was really fantastic, she did a mix of care for both elder DC, collecting from nursery/school. Looking after the baby for a bit, she often came with us to Willows and just sat with the baby whilst I played with the elder two/
