Hello

I wonder if you could help me, I don't really have any nanny positions that are full time near to where I live but have seen loads of part time roles, some are just before and after school 1-3 days a week, others are a few hours 2-3 days a week. I have been speaking to 3 families which would all fit around each others hours but im not sure you can look after that many families at once. They are not a nanny share situation.

I don't think there's any limit? Like you say it's not a share.

I know that if it was a share, it could be up to 2 families but that's if you're ofsted registered.

I found I was in same situation. I nanny now for 3 families. One that pays the most gets my tax allowance as main employer. Other two have my BR tax code ( basic rate 20%). With these two jobs I agreed gross salary, as one day each a week. It is very straightforward. Hope this helps.

I've had a nanny Job that was three days a week,Another on a Tuesday and Friday morning and a third after school and babysitting on the Friday.they worked fine.

As long as no overlap then no limit, though do check with your public liability insurer.
If there is overlap then max of two families children at the same time. That limit is in Childcare Act 2006.

Make sure a gross salary is agreed. Make sure each family has their own PAYE scheme even if you earn under the lower earnings limit. Expect to overpay tax, HMRC will sort it out at some stage such as after year end (April) and send you a refund if you have overpaid.

If you find that two or more employers are using 1000L taxcode, contact tax office and ask them to check as you may underpay tax.

Presumably its no different to having 3 part time jobs?
You just have to make sure you declare all your earnings tax wise
