Best place to look for a one-day a week after school nanny?

We're in central London, and need someone to look after a 6 year old after school on one day a week. Is Gumtree as good as anywhere to look, or would I be better going through an agency? Any recommendations gratefully received Smile

If it's a Friday you need I'd be potentially interested! Smile

Thanks wicked witch, but it's a Thursday!

Are there any younger teaching assistants at the school who might be grateful of a few extra pounds? I'm a t.a myself and would be delighted if one of the parents approached me about this!

I'd use gumtree and also have a look through the available nannies on childcare.co.uk to see if they have a Thursday as a free day (I'd do that before paying to use the site).

I'd also be aware to make sure they already have paid work for the majority of the rest of the week, or you'll lose them if they're offered a position with more hours.

Thank you, Hannah and Karoleann; useful thoughts!

I would put an advert on nanny job.co.uk

And greatcare.co.uk

And perhaps try like minders agency
