for one afternoon a week, my child is at pre-school what sort of things do you ask your nanny to do in that time.

she (with my full approval) does all the tidying up after the kids involving the kids so their room is tidy, beds changed, playroom tidy, what else is there?

Wantto -Could she volunteer in your dc's school a couple of mornings or afternoons a week? Schools are usually happy to have parent helpers to do reading and other activities.

Yes, we have offered that. She is CRB checked and did part of her training as a teaching assistant so she would be perfect. Private school so plenty of staff and they didn't seem keen.

Disney nannyshare of some sort? Would work particularly well if you can find a share with someone who only needs childcare during school hours, eg someone whose job is in school hours (like my SIL who is a music teacher) or a mother on maternity leave who just wants help for a few hours in the day.

Yep, nannyshare is a possibility. I think I might start my own thread for more traffic.
