P/t rural afterschool care inc pick up, nanny/Mothers help? Agencies???

Help! What do I need? live in quite rural area- kids need picking up from school by car, taking home, homework supervision, dinner etc. probably twice weekly. 2dds, 7 & 14. Always used school wraparound care and childminder before but neither option available. Had thought about au pair but really don't want someone living in and need good, safe, mature driver.

And can anyone recommend good nanny agencies for this? Or not worth it, better to gumtree whatever. Thanks!

How rural? The village my mum lives in is 25 miles from the nearest main town. Is it that rural, or is larger population nearer?

What you need to consider is where someone doing the job will live. Would it only be suitable for someone in your village, in nearby villages, or possible from a nearby town?

Once you have worked out the radius around your home in which the person needs to live, that will determine other things. Advertising in a local shop/newsagent/village magazine may be more affective than putting something on the internet. Consider where local people look for local jobs?

Consider if you need care only during school term time, or also at any other times? This will make a difference to holiday entitlement, as holiday entitlement for term time workers (12.07% of working time) is a little different to those working all year round (5.6 weeks), as often if doing term time only then holiday can not be taken during term time.

This would be an after-school nanny position... though you could call it what you like.

About 1o miles from nearest big town, need car driver, mature person. Thanks for advice re radius etc, good ideas. Looked on national sites and just shows nothing in my area : (
