Once offered au pair a job do I have to send her an invitation letter?

Any ideas?

I didn't with my current au pair, I just had a basic contract we both signed.

With the new one I have just recruited I have been a bit more thorough though and done a simple letter and an au pair handbook setting out hours/duties etc to try and avoid misunderstandings.

I would send an official invite letter and then sign a contract once arrived.

Where is she from? Does she need a visa? If she does then she might need a letter to apply for it.
