My new job is nannying for a 15 month b with Trachi and NG feeding tube.
Any other nannies with similar out there?

My current charge had a long term NG tube but no longer needs it. I've also looked after other children who have had gastro tubes.
There are quite a few SEN nannies on this board ?

I just stopped working with a lovely little trachy boy who also had a pegJ feeding tube.

One of my charges has a PEG gastrostomy, girl 2 1/2.

We had to get her a new peg fitted for the end, and her twin brothe was walking around all day going 'oh, my tummy broken too. Me need new tube!'

I am receiving training shortly on care and use of both Trachi and NG tube.
LO wil have Trachi for at least another year. NG might be removed if he is able to eat and drink sufficiently well.
LO has to learn to drink from cup or beaker, LO is being weaned on purées at the mo and making good progress.

Ideas on sucking and swallowing would be great as he had never had to do this before.
