Hi there

I am in the process of applying for a variation to my registration but ofsted need a letter explaining how i will manage etc. does anyone have a draft copy that i could use as some help. Im totally stumped and have written about 20 letters all of which have ended up in the bin. its not that i am thick, just that i know what ofsted are like and if i get it wrong they will turn me down.

thanks.

is it for 2 under ones or 4 under fives? I've had 3 variations granted for 4 under fives - my letters go like this:

para 1, explain why variation required ... children happy & settled in my care and it would be disruptive to seek alternative care for this period ... Under my current registration I am unable to provide continuity of care for the children I childmind.

para 2, timetable/dates & times variation is required, ages of all children present during those hours

para 3, I have discussed the matter with all parents affected by the proposal and all agree this would be a positive arrangement. (describe arrangements for meals/naps/transport if necessary) (enclose letter from parent if applicable)

para 4, I am confident in my ability to manage this arrangement without compromising the care of any of the minded children and I do hope you will be able to give permission. I look forward to receiving your considered reply.

Good luck!
