Those who have an aupair, what kind of living accomodation are you providing? I have visions of anyone who has an aupair with a big huge house.

Hi AnnaG !

The only person I know with an aupair has a 4 bedroom house where the 4th bedroom is in the attic and have 3 children so 2 share - so not a huge house. Although I think the attic room is en suite so they don't share a bathroom.

Anna - We have a four bedroomed house, our two dd's share a room, we have a spare room come family room, our bedroom which is in the loft with ensuite and the au-pair's room. Our house has reasonable sized rooms but is by no means huge. Standard victorian terrace with loft conversion. I would say from experience tho you really need two bathrooms to make life trouble free although of course it is not a necessity.

We have a five-bedroom house, and the au pair has the second smallest (a small double). It works out well because it is the first room at the top of the stairs and next to the family bathroom, so we don't really feel that our privacy is invaded.

The au pair shares the bathroom with our three girls, and we also have two ensuites for DH&I and the boys.

Our au pair gets a double bed, a chair, as much storage space as she needs, and a TV with Freeview plus DVD/VCR.
