My friend's daughter (living in USA) wants to be au pair to my family from next summer for a year. She would be brilliant from what I know of her, and it's nice to have an existing connection.
I've looked into the visa situation and there doesn't seem to be any arrangement to cover US au pairs. The reason is that the US hasn't signed up to the youth mobility scheme.
Not sure why I'm posting here - not expecting a magic bullet, just thought it's really sad.
