any advice appreciated !!

hi,im a childminder in the st albans area and have been advertising for 3 months as i have 2 vacancies that have come up,unfortunalty one left me as her mum has given up work and the other left me to start school. iv got ads in all the usual places,shops,post office,cis website,in my car,the village school,local free paper,and anywhere else i could plant them!ive even had an open day. problem is im just not getting ANY response. am i doing something wrong?! any suggestions on where else to advertise?

ill bump the advertising thread but best thing is word of mouth, get yourself out and about and tell anyone that cares to listen, mums and tot groups - basically anywhere you can and phone your local early years centre to see if they can hook you up with a childminder support network. i have one and we meet up twice a week its really good to know theres an ear to bend or listen to people in the same boat.

Do you meet up with other local childminders, I find that's the best way to fill spaces, get your face and name known and other childminders are more likely to pass new parents on. Have you updated your details on the childcare link, usually when you do this you go to the top of the internet list, so more likely to get phone calls.

yes i do meet up with lots of local cm on a regular basis and they are all doing their best for me! i know something will come along im just a very impatient person!
