CM - would you take a child who you know was sick the day before?

Just that really. The parents insist that their child don't have a stomach bug, it's probably something she ate. She was sick a number of times between 6 pm and bedtime. Would you take the child the following day? I do have the standard 48 hour policy, but the parents are convinced that it's not a stomach bug. Thanks for your opinions!

No I wouldn't, not in any circumstances. Stick to your 48 hour policy, there's a reason for it.

Are the parents doctors?

No. Not for 48 hours after the last period of sickness.

No not until they have passed 48hours after the last bout of sickness. How do the parents know its not a bug? There are a lot of sickness bugs going around at the moment :(

I had a child many years ago droppped off and was told they had been sick due to the amount of sweets they had eaten the night before (Halloween), so the then trusting person I used to be , let them come. That same week we were all sick here, with me having to close my doors for a whole week!

Coincidence - who knows but never again I have taken a child who has been sick apart from the asthmatics who have gagged / vomitted with the coughing at night .

The 48 hour exclusion is there to protect you in instances like this.
As nobody is able to say what the cause of the vomiting is, just stick to your guns and say you have to apply the 48 hour rule to all instances of vomiting.

No way - A couple of weeks ago I was quite strict with the mum of a little one who she said was "fine in himself - don't think it is a bug, but he was sick yesterday". Turned out to be norovirus and if he had come he would have infected mine and 2 other families!
