Winter Olympics Activity ideas?

HRHQueenMe · 30/01/2014 18:44

Im a cm and would like to introduce the winter olympics as a theme from next week. Has anyone got ideas for activities?
So far we are going to build a mountainrange for skiing out of mcdonalds drink carriers and tissue paper, make little skiers to go on it, and draw olympic rings.
I also thought we would youtube a few winter sports and talk about them.
And now im stuck. Kids are 3-5, and all quite good at crafting.
Any ideas gratefully recieved!:)

Are you on Pinterest? I've seen a few ideas on there. Can't remember off the top of my head but I'll go have a look in a minute & report back.

Have you seen the episode of Sarah and Duck where Scarf Lady teaches them to bob sleigh?
They then go and try to find their own bob sleigh. Perhaps kids could use loo rolls to decorate their own sleigh. Could you devise some sort of simple board game like snakes and ladders to copy a bob sleigh course or ski slalom course? Lots of counting practice there too.

Could you do a form of curling? sandbags and quoits for example.
Design their own figure skating costume.
