I am currently working with a group of ladies supporting them to set up in business as childminders. I am trying to put together a list of useful websites for them, that they can go to for ideas for activities.

I have a few already that I have used a lot in the past:

Activity village
Learn Play Imagine
The Imagination Tree
Wildlife Trust

Does anyone have any other 'must have' websites that they couldn't live without that they could share please?

Thanks Grin

RedTedArt and Happy Hooligans are great blogs in the style of the Imagination Tree. The IcanCook bit of the Cbeebies website is good for ideas for cooking with kids. Pinterest is great for quickly searching for ideas and then gathering them all in one place!

The Early Years Foundation Stage Forum is a brilliant site where Early Years practitioners can get ideas for activities, support with planning, suggestions for all sorts of setting issues, examples of policies and paperwork, and support from experienced practitioners to solve sticky issues e.g. complaints, late payers, behaviour management.

There is a subscription to become a member but quite a few County Councils subscribe so their individual practitioners don't have to pay.

I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Thanks guys

The forum looks interesting. I am meeting with our LA childminding development officer on Monday so I will ask her if they have a membership. Grin
