CM CLUB: Anyone there? Advice about kids not eating food - NOW :-)

Made something different today, jacket potatoes and a salmon and sweetcorn mix on the side. Put the mix on the side in case they didn't like it so at least they'd eat the potato.

Didn't like the salmon and sweetcorn mix, not surprised but neither of the older kiddies (3.4) will eat the potato either. Tasted it and say they don't like. Surprised me as it's like mash inside bit yummier. Oh well. At least 1 yr old is happily eating it up!!

Soooooooo, do I let them go hungry like some people have suggested in the past or do I quickly cook up some pasta so they aren't really hungry? Bit of a pain as little one has only just turned one and she's taking her time over eating and of course I can't leave her.

I'm planning on trying the kids with more varied food as they are a bit fussy and i don't want them to just turn their noses up at things because it's different and think they can just get something else instead - not cooking twice every night!

Opinions / Advice please

I'd let them go hungry

Why not agree a strategy with their mum

ie if they don't eat they can have a slice of bread & butter and an apple or a yogurt

That way you know what is expected of you

Hi Katymac

Sorry for not replying sooner. Thanks for the advice, I did read it and that's what I did. Well, not had word with mum yet but I want advice before I do that (will do another thread!).

I meant to reply that day but it was a bit of a mad evening and to be honest, been a mad couple of weeks so not as much time to come on here (but mad for good reason, moving house hopefully!)

Anyway, thanks again
