Just hired our first nanny. Advice on contracts, payroll svc, etc?

We've just agreed terms with our first nanny & now need to put a contract together & sign up w/ a payroll agency.

Can anyone point me to a good contract template that we could modify?

Any recommendations on payroll svcs would also be appreciated. Do they also assist w/ the contract? Or with figuring out holiday allowance, etc?

(Nanny will be full-time live-in
initially, then full-time live-out; possibly dropping to part-time after a few months - both sides have agreed to & are happy w/ a pretty flexible arrangement).

Any other advice for first-timers also appreciated. Thanks!

Payroll services will assist with contracts, holiday calculations, sick pay, all that sort of thing. They may charge differently depending on what services you need from them.

Worth looking at those two, see which suits your needs.

Agree a gross salary.

Sounds like the contract may be a bit tricky given that the job starts as live-in, then goes live-out and working hours changing. So I would talk to the payroll companies, see what info you can get from them for free, then sign up with the one you feel is best.

Have you got specific dates for when changes are to happen? If so then you may need to put those in the contract.
Have a probation period, so either side can end things quickly if things are not working out.

thanks. we don't have specific dates yet; she'll be flat hunting, so will prob only live-in for the first month or so, but we will put something in the contract.
