Currently I have free flow play, Reading sessions, craft sessions as well as outdoor/outings etc and wonder if I have the balance right.

My days really vary. Sometimes I can start out with an adult led activity and the children can take it in a completely different direction. Other days they march through the front door full of their own plans.

I tend to think if they're not doing something constructive, then I will add in my ideas.

Sometimes I feel like I should play too but I don't want to change the dynamic of the play

I do play with them as well (when they let me), but often it's a case of listening to their play and providing resources which might support, or extend it.

When the play starts to descend into "this is going to end in tears" more adult led activity begins!
