Hi
I'm just about to employ a nanny and I was wondering if we have to pay pension contributions?
If yes, where can I get guidance on the matter?
If not, do you know when it comes into place?

thanks

kavitha

Here you go - pension needed in 2017 onwards: www.nannytax.co.uk/auto-enrolment-pensions

1July 2017 as you are starting a PAYE scheme between April 2013 and March 2014.

Pensions Regulator has lots of info but simpler info is available from nanny payroll companies like nannytax.

Pension contribution by employer and employee I think changes over time, so low at first, then going up.

If you are doing a long range budget, then factor in the pension rates currently known about, so 1% in July 2017.

Nearer the time I expect there will be services to make things simple for employers to organise pension scheme. Meanwhile sit tight, do some research as you are already doing, so you know what's coming up.
