i'm going back to work soon to nanny for 2 children and taking my own son. I need to fit two carseats ( for 1-2 yrs old) in and a booster seat.
My car has an airbag for the passener seat which i can't switch off or the warrenty is invalid apparently but i can't fit all three in the back.

Any one else had this problem or know of a solution???

Any help would be gratefully recieved thanks

The next car I am likely to buy will be a Vauxhall Zafira. A childminding friend of mine has one and thinks they are great. Given your occupation NannyJo, why do you want an estate, rather than a mpv?

Just in case anyone is interested, moving the passenger seat a bit to back won't be enough to protect a child from the airbag's impact during collision (they are designed to protect even very leggy passengers that normally sit at that distance). It may be safer to get the third child in the middle with just a lap belt than having him at the front with all the correct parafernalia and an active airbag.

you'd get a relativly new zafira for your price range. I just got one and can get 3 seats comfortably across the back and still have two spare seats if I need them.

We've had Fiat Punto's and Seicento's that could have their airbags deactivated using the key, so I'd imagine most Fiats have this facility. All the Renaults that I've used (our normal Renault Laguna, and various hire cars) have also had this option.

I'm a bit worried by sandradee's point that switching it off in the car might not work. Has anybody else heard of this issue? I'm planning on putting my new baby in the front seat of the car on occasions.

I have a fiat multipla (seats 6) - the airbag can be switched off with a key as laura says.

Have you tried putting the two toddler seats side by side and the booster beside one of the doors, or have you just a lapbelt in the middle?
