hi, not been about for ages but managed to log on at a friends house. i'm a childminder looking after 2 children and have this week been told that i will lose at least one of them, probably both within the next 3 months but this could be a matter of weeks away. My problem is i'm a single mum and so this is the household income. Does anyone know of any financial help available if this happens? I really don't want to give up childminding and have been looking for mindees and a part-time job for the past few months and there is nothing available. TIA

thats so awful, advertise like mad and try to get people talking about you - go to as many groups as you can and make it known that you will be having spaces available in the next few weeks. good luck !! hopefully people will start looking for holiday care soon that will at least tide you over until maybe you can find someone to start in sept.....

make sure all your friends and family put your advert up at work in their cars etc

Just make sure you tell working family tax credits etc that your income has gone down you may be eligible for more money.

Is there not something that you can claim. Something like £100 for 5 weeks when low income. Something to do with childminders but not actually sure of the exact details. Sorry
