What is the average number of english lessons an au pair will have a week?

Hi. we are in the process of trying to get an au pair. We are using an agent. We have found a lovely lady but she has said she wants to be able to attend English classes every day. I was under the impression that au pairs attended maybe twice or at a push three times a week but not every day. Can someone please let me know what they think is the norm? Thanks.

Our au pair has been doing English classes every weekday. However previous au pairs haven't (mainly because of cost). If its a problem for you, there should be plenty of au pairs who would only enrol for classes 2-3 times a week because that is what they can afford.

Same with us - our current AP is doing classes every day, the previous ones had 2-3 times a week. As long as classes don't interfere with your routine that should be, shouldn't it?
Our current AP is sometimes late for her classes, when I can't drop DS at school and she has to do it - she doesn't mind.

Why not find out what the most popular language schools near you are and find out how often their lessons are. For example, the school our AP is going to go to offers a course with 2 x 2 hour sessions per week during term time (which is what our AP is going to do) or a much more expensive course which is basically full time, 5 hours a day 5 days a week. I would have thought the cost of that would be prohibitive for any AP.

Once you know what the options are, you and your AP can choose what works best

I just dont think it will work as she needs to collect from school at 3pm but maybe it will. Will check them out though. Thanks.
