Nanny rates

I'm trying to work out what would be a fair gross hourly wage for 2 full days and 1 half day. We are on the Essex London borders, easy job, just playing with our DS, free parking and all activities is walking distance.

There would be food in the house for a simple lunch for the nanny to make her/himself.

I'm not looking for a hugely experienced nanny (unless she organically finds us). Any thoughts? I don't want to be off the mark and offend anyone applying.

It's £10-12ph gross in London so probably slightly less on the outskirts, maybe £9-11ph or less even if you don't need experience/qualifications. Best thing is to look at other job ads for your area and get an idea that way.

If you advertise the salary, with luck nannies who want to earn a lot more won't apply.

I would say £8-10, perhaps 11 top as it is part time.
