Looking for a full time job from September and am really struggling!

There are absolute tons of part time/after school ones but financially this won't work for me.

I'm in London so hardly a small village!

Argh!!

I have not worked full time for over 10 years, if by full time you mean 5 days per week, 50+ hours per week.

I would say that many jobs these days are not full time.

Some 3 and 4 day a week jobs come up now and then, or are you finding those don't exist much? Are you looking at jobs via agencies, or only online?

are you looking for live in or out

i know of two full time longterm live in from sept

only offering 350 instead of 400 net tho

Maybe offer a nanny share as so many parents are juggling PT work with OT support to cut costs?

Yep me too and I have several friends all looking too who are finding it hard. Lots of mums are only working 1/2 weeks nowadays so the traditional 50 hour week is getting harder to find. I'm in London and I'm checking 8 websites each day plus have signed on to 4 agencies, my friend has joined 9 agencies, and still I'm finding it hard to find something.
I've even extended the distance willing to travel to find work but I don't want to be schlepping over the other side of London each day as working a 12 hour day then becomes a 14/15 hour day with travel included and who wants a life like that. You get home late get a few hours sleep then have to be up at the crack of dawn the next morning and we work a long enough day as it is.
Have you tried looking for a share ? This way you may work less days but the money will be ok as the two families will split your salary so they pay less but you still get a nice amount.

I am having trouble finding a two day job so think nanny jobs are just harder to find these days, quite a few families down in Surrey where I am seem to want 4 or 5 days. It does always seem to be when you are looking there are lots of what you don't really want and then when you are working lots of what you do want seem to be around.

Yeah me too, am looking for a Sept start and have been looking for a few weeks already... seems like there's nothing out there atm except for after-school, part-time only like 20 hours a week or so and live-in everything at least 60 hours which is insane. Have had a few good interviews now but still... also everyone seems to be working from home now so mostly shared-care or mum 'working upstairs but occasionally popping in' which is really not ideal. Well good luck to everyone! :)
