Can anyone shed any light on this? I filled in new CRB forms when I submitted my forms to OFSTED at end March because somewhere I heard that new CRB forms have to be submitted even if you have an enhanced CRB disclosure already ( I cant remember who told me though. I thought it was OFSTED.) . So today I call OFSTED and they tell me they are still waiting for CRB so I ask ' can I send you in my husbands and my own enhanced CRBs which were done less than a year ago and he says 'yes fine'. I nearly fell over backwards. Why have I waited 6 weeks for nothing?

Ishyan ,welcome to the famous OFSTED"one person will tell you one thing and another will tell you something entirely different!"way of thinking!

If Ofsted didn't do the origional CRB checks, then technically they should not use them for Childminder registration purposes, as if the CRB had issued additional information to the registered body, Ofsted would not get that. Its interesting that Ofsted are now saying they will accept a CRB by another registered body (if that is what they told you), perhaps it's a temporary measure while they wait for your new enhanced checks to clear.

My enhanced CRB check that i had done through my partners work was ok as far as OFSTED were concerned. The right hand dosent know what the left hand is doing. Addditional information nannynick? not being silly but i really dont know (my CRB's are clean obviously) :)

Ive been searching internet this am and it seems to say that it is up to the individual inspector whether they accept a previous CRB and to take into account when CRB taken, any breaks of employment, change of address or change of partner. So that makes it very consistent doesnt it!!!
