Will I be able to find a nanny for this job, and what should I do about teacher holidays?

I'm hoping to get a job I'm being interviewed for this week. It would start in September. At the moment I have a nanny friend willing to take on the job (proper arrangements, contract etc) but she is looking for full time work and will give a month's notice if she gets something suitable.

Friend has her own child, which I'm happy with and it is better for me financially to pay the lower rate.

The job is weekday mornings, 8-1. 3 mornings would be baby DS only, but include dropping DD at preschool. The other two mornings would be both of them. I can't manage this childcare with a childminder, as local CM's won't do drop off to DD's school, and I can't find one nearer her school (also wrong direction for me).

Is it a terrible job that's unlikely to attract anyone?

Also, I'll have school holidays off. This won't onclcue next summer as the job ends in July. Can I just ask the nanny to take her holiday in school holiday time?

Thanks, new to this.

Hi yes you can put in the contract that holidays may only be taken in school hols, would you need the nanny at all in school holidays or are you looking to only pay for term time plus holiday owed?

Where roughly are you as sounds a perfect job for what I am looking for! I am a nanny with own little boy too but only looking for part time work.

Where's best to advertise? I'm in south Devon.

It would dovetail perfectly with an afterschool term time/FT in school hols job so could be really attractive.

Try your local Guntree, netmums, MN local, nannyjob etc. Plus adverts in newsagents and word of mouth.
