Is it possible to be a CM part time? I'm really interested in becoming a CM but have just also trained to teach a course I love & one of these would need to be during the day. Would it be possible to CM 3/4 days per week?

Like lots of CM's I only work 4 days a week & could give notice to 1 child (if I could afford to) & just work 3 days a week. I would say it would be much easier if you can be flexible which days you work initially as 1 family could come along with 2 siblings 3 full days which would be perfect but might not fit your schedule.

That'd be my plan and as my other work is self employed I could be very flexible. Hmmm dunno what to do.

I will be having a Friday off in September.
Currently work Mon-Wed in the day and do occasional before and after school Thu & Fri.

It's possible, but you have to be firm. I have a new starter in Sept who wanted 4 days and I said it would have to be Mon-Thu. Before I've just done what parents want to secure work. Luckily the Mum used the fact that I couldn't do Fridays to secure her hours at work and we are both happy with the arrangement.

Oh and I only work 2 days in the holidays. (Extending to 3 this Summer to support a family who has an ill Grandparent though)

I am soooo looking forward to my Friday off (as my youngest starts full time school!) Grin
