hi is that the correct address

morningpaper · 27/05/2006 12:47

yes - it is very heavy on advertising because you are using a free website host

Not worth it - it just looks like you are advertising something else

Pay for hosting space - 123-reg.com is the cheapest

Far more professional

Other than that, the site is lovely! Your menu needs to be neater - perhaps use three lines in a table with different colours to each row?

I can't see it at all presumably blocked because of the ads or something

Thanks for ur input. Only my first attempt though, i do intend to pay for a domain once it kicks off. Many thanks

Yes, it looks fine. Don't see the problem with the advertising - there's a link on the first page to continue to your site, and the ads on your pages aren't that intrusive.

If you're interested, I use Freeola to host mine for free - no ads or any clutter on the pages. I have to have a dial-up connection with them, and use it to access my business e-mail and update the site, but for the couple of quid a month that costs me then it's very, very cheap. Details are at www.freeola.com. If you don't want to use one of the names they have on offer you can just transfer your domain name to them so you keep your branding.

Thanks Badhair, will have a look at that, thanks

just bear in mind that as some people can't see the site at all it might be worth finding out why!!!!!Grin

kpnuts2006 · 27/05/2006 13:58

how would i do that plz?

I don't know..I just get a completely blank page

morningpaper · 27/05/2006 14:06

kp nuts that's because of all the advertising. Some people's browsers will block the site. If it is costing £2 a month for "free" space (because you need to dial-up) then you may as well pay for proper hosting space which will cost the same. 123-reg.com are very cheap.

Frankly there is little point using this kind of 'free' space because it will rank VERY low with search engines because of all the ads, and lots of people (particularly those who are not internet-savvy) will think that they cannot find your site.

(I am a self-employed website designer and consultant btw :))

I am planning on paying for one. But with regards to the content (for those of you that can see it) Do u think that that is ok?

Yes, I thought it was great - it took me a while to notice your menu at the top but once I did then your site gave me all the information I'd look for in a childminder (and a good feeling about you too Smile)
