Is there usually an average amount of holidays taken by childminders? (Obviously some will take more than others)
Thanks

We're all different. I normally take3 or 4 weeks, but only took 1 last year. You need to ask each minder you visit.

Agree all different and all have our own agreements about them, some charge, some don't done charge for yours, some charge half.

I usually have 2 weeks and then odd days I need for appointments, not taking any this year as I'll be on maternity leave in a couple of weeks for the summer. Some just cant afford time off.

Fightlikeagirl · 31/05/2013 17:02

I normally take 4 (same ones each year, I like routine!!) but if I could afford it I'd love to take an extra 1 or 2.

I don't charge for my holidays but I do charge for any time off that the children have.
I give out my holiday dates at the beginning of the year.
In my policies it states that I will not take more than 6 weeks, but have never taken this much before.

Buy agree that it totally varies from cm to cm.

I take 4 weeks unpaid, and sometimes break it up into odd days as required

I take 4 weeks paid during school summer holidays (although most don't pay as they're term time only) plus option for 2 weeks unpaid at any time although in reality it's rarely more than a few days term time as my own kids are at school.

I have it written in my contract that I can have 4 weeks holiday. This is unpaid. Parents pay for days off if they choose them. I have 3 weeks booked this year so far, and may take another couple of days later in the year. I have never taken my full 4 weeks of though, I haven't been able to afford to in the past although financially this year we could afford me to have it so we will see what happens!
