Do I need a contract?

Hi everyone
I was just looking for a bit of advice
I work as a nanny tuesday-friday. The rest of the time I offer babysitting, event childcare and proxy parenting to name a few services.
Am i supposed to do a contract with these families? I will soon be registering as self employed as well as employed for this work. I was not sure if you was supposed to have a contract with them even though you may only work with them once a month or even less.

Thanks

I would, if only to have something in writing about how much you charge for ad hoc work and maybe get them to sign something when you heave worked for them to confirm hours worked or print emails/texts off as proof of work for them. I wouldn't bother for babysitting though.

Yes, talk to your insurers.
