CM club - who does your home insurance?

just found out we're not covered by direct line for our home contents insurance because im running a childminding business.

so who does yours and how much is it?? (if you dont mind telling me)

£26 monthly, went thru the NCMA - Layton Blackham. Worked out cheaper than my previous insurers and higher level of cover.

Are you sure because direct line were one of the few who would cover me when i was minding.

dp called them and they said they wouldnt offer it at any cost..........

I'm worried I may not be covered now :( I'm with Tesco - must check it out!

I've just renewed with Zurich Insurance and I did tell them several times I was a CM and was ok and I am fully covered. It was a very competitve quotation too.

Problem we have is that Tesco have legal cover included and we need that at the moment. We are fighting dh's old employers and they are paying the solicitors so we don't want to leave them until the case is finished.

Will try and find out in the meantime :)

can you call them or get a friend to call them for a quote just to see what they say about it looneytoon?

That's what we are planning to do. LMG's, was going to msn but your offline and in case I don't catch you later, can you clarify. Have you been told your whole home contents insurance is no longer valid or have they said you can't claim for things damaged as a result of childminding?

i have buildings and contents with the co-op and its really cheap. about £28 per month for both. i told them i was childminding from home and they said that wouldnt matter. i have my childminding insurance with the ncma too.
