CM Club : Retainers

I hate the subject of money when it comes to my childminding. I feel awful mentioning it and generally tell people I charge less than I was planning to.
I need to charge someone a retainer, as I can't afford to just hold the place open for a couple of months. What do people charge... percentage wise? I feel so unreasonable asking for one, so I want to get the amount right.

I usually quote 1/2 fees but parents then run a mile & don't come back. I think next time I will ask if they've had a quote from anyone else first.

I don't charge retainers because I'm a mug!
