Going to call mum, but what do others do? send home after one very loose nappy? or wait and see if there's anymore!?

TIA.

When this has happened I've waited to see if there's anymore - but if you have your own and other mindees there its probably better to ring the Mum, to stop it spreading...

I've just finished childminding now to be on mat leave but when I start up again I'm going to re-write my sickness policy stating clear guidlines on things like sickness and diaroeah. I was too lax with my last mindee (I've only been minding 5 months) and I accepted her on several occasions when she was poorly and shouldn't have been bought to me...

Thanks Smile I know, it's really hard. I've been quite relaxed about it too (first mindee)

I've rung mum and have said if there's any more I will ring her back to come and get him.

Thats good, then atleast the Mum knows the situation... I always think of what a nursery would do in times like this and I'm sure when DS1 and DS2 were at nursery I was called at work to get them for sickness or a loose nappy. I do think its harder when you childmind though because of being in a home enviroment - plus I'm a bit rubbish at being business minded! But... I will be changing when I start minding again!

My childminder calls me if ds has more than one loose nappy and I have to go and collect him. The only exception is if he is on antibiotics as he has a tendency to get loose nappies then and we know that so she is not so strict then.
