I need to do a 'quality audit' of my settings inclusion policy.

I'm having a few teething problems with the course.. it's the new NVQ however my course is aimed at nursery workers and I don't feel a lot of it - like this - is hugely relevant to me as a childminder.

This part of my task is:

Sitting down with my manager to discuss how to gather the information and ask questions
carry out the quality audit of the inclusion policy (I'm not entirely sure what this means but I gather it's basically like a risk assessment, but assessing a policy as opposed to the safety of the business)
write a report analysing my findings and making recommendations
presents report to manager, getting feedback etc

So I think the best thing for me to do is include a copy of inclusion policy and then basically write a report explaining it and how it could be improved (although I can only see this as a financial thing myself!)

any ideas?

Oh and if anyone actually has an inclusion policy that would help - I don't know exactly how this relates to childminding. I personally thought my equal opportunities policy covered it...

Why doesn't your equal opps policy cover it then? I thought inclusion was all to do with equal opps, discrimination, disability etc. That's the sort of stuff in my policies and is the sort of information requested by our networking group re. inclusion.

Am feeling very relieved that I'm not doing your course, it sounds heavy-duty! Why is it aimed at nursery workers?

I thought inclusion was equal ops too. Do you have an early years department thathas a libary? They normally have lots of books that might be able to help. I had a good book that was about running your own nursery will try to dig out the title.

Apparently inclusion is more aimed at special needs, equal opportunities at race/gender discrimination....

The NVQ relates to all early years providers, sadly the people running my course have chosen to direct it towards nursery workers. I'm the first childminder they've taken on, and I'm struggling simply because a lot isn't relevant. For example, this quality audit has five sections.... yet I've only really been able to do one. If the average person does a page of work on each section, they're handing in 5 pages, me 1 page...
