Nannies

Anyone in London hired a private nanny? And if so, what sort of costs should you be looking at? And any advice?

Am considering a nanny share with a friend of mine who is also having a baby soon. It should, (I think), work out cheaper than the nursery, be more flexible and because most of the time either I or my partner are working from our home office, it means we can oversee. It looks like £10 - £15 an hour is to be expected. But I'm not sure of the best agencies, or if its better to go with a maternity nurse for the first few months and then switch to a nanny???

Any experiences that can be shared would be awfully helpful. Thank you
