what paperwork do I need to get from ofsted re having an assistant? Do I need to send them on first aid?

You need to get an EY2 and yes they need to do First Aid.

They don't have to have first aid if you will always be with them, only if you want to leave them alone which can be handy if it's raining etc going on school runs.
