Problems with childcare course

Posting this on DH's behalf.

He applied to start a childcare course in September, it's meant to start tomorrow.

Problem is, it says it is conditional on him finding a placement. The woman who interviewed him for the course advised him to send letters etc out to schools in time for them going back in September. Which makes sense as they only interviewed him, just before schools broke up for the summer.

Problem is, despite contacting every school in the town and surrounding areas, most haven't responded, and those that have either aren't looking for volunteers, or only want volunteers for the day he has to be in college.

So now he's worried he wont be accepted onto the course. Any advice/ideas?

Can he help at a Childrens Centre?

Does it have to be a school? Could try contacting childminders, pre-schools. When I did my NNEB many years ago getting placements was tricky - I did 2 terms with childminders before getting a placement in infant school.

No, has to be a school unfortunately.
