I am a CM in Berkshire at the moment but my family live in Cornwall and we are thinking of moving back down to Cornwall. My worry is that I have not Childminded in Cornwall and do not know if I will get enough work there. If you live there can you tell me how it is in our profession, is there many CM's there and enough jobs for them? Also how much do you charge there as I am sure it would be much less then here? Thank you in advance.

what part of Cornwall?
St Austell is quite a poor area, you would be fine in St Agnes or StIves I think, good luck Smile

A friend of mine moved recently (not to Cornwall) and it has taken her six months or more to get her name known and fill up her spaces at the new place. Don't want to discourage you but unless you know a lot of people through family contacts I think you may need to be prepared for a slow start up.

I have 2 cm friends in Cornwall, one used to be a CM but stopped as business was erratic & she was at a point in her career where she was ready to move on and another who was in a rural location and really struggled to get any mindies. She is now in Truro and managing quite well but mainly does after schoolers these days
