Interviewing an after-school nanny (and introducing to DS)...what to tell DS beforehand?

Am interviewing a potential after-school nanny, to look after 4 year old DS when he starts school. We've had a long phone conversation, now we're going to spend a couple of hours together (with DH too) to see if we all get on.

Have done my homework on questions to ask her, but don't know what I should tell DS beforehand to prep him? Should I just introduce her as a friend of mine? Or be a bit more honest and explain what will be happening in September (he's already worried about school and leaving his best friend at nursery as it is so i don't want to worry him before she arrives).

Any advice welcome! Thanks.

friend of Mummies for now

explain more after / later should you pick her.

I wouldn't explain lots before hand as it may not work out etc

yes, just say they're a friend for now. I wouldn't go anywhere near explaining about after school nanny in September until at the earliest mid August. 4 year olds (IME) have a dubious concept of time and you don't want him worrying about it. Best case would be to find someone and allow them to go to the park maybe once a week in August or babysit a bit so that you can just say - "soandso" will be picking you up when school starts. My kids have an afterschool nanny and she lets them go much higher on the swings than I do so they like her a lot and I just try not to think about it. :)
