Writing own contracts..?

Hi there,

I am new to childminding and have my first parent coming to sign contracts next week.

My LA coordinator told me if I signed up to NCMA then they would send me all he contracts/ record forms/ accident books etc with my membership so I just joined only to discover that isn't the case and swiftly un-joined as can't see any benefits. You can buy the contracts without being a member.

So now I've decided I want to write my own contracts. I have access to my own DDs contracts so I know what info I need... but I wondered if I could get any other advice on how to do this? Has anyone used their own contracts before?

Who is your insurance with? If ncma I thought you had to use their contracts to be covered for monetary disputes etc whereas Morton Michel allow you to use any if you're insured by them.

Not insured by anyone yet as not minding until October. But I will use Morton Michel

I am with Morton Michel. NCMA was free for the first year when I started up.

M M contracts are bril. THey will I believe cover you if you use your own contract.

I do use some of my own stuff. ie regisiter, payment received forms etc. If you feel confident to use your own then this will safe you money.

All the best and welcome to cm'ding

Great, thanks, will give it a go then! Ncma, seems very extravagant for what you get.

I didn't bother with joining the NCMA but I did buy their contracts - they're thorough and I think parents find them reassuring too.
