i am really getting frustrated that i cant seem to find any families, i have been looking for about 3 mkonths now and nothing seems to come up.
i have even gone to the extreme of chasing people that have advertised for a nanny but nothing seems to of come of it
i will be glad of any (inexpensive) ideas anyone has that have worked.
thanks all xx

Did you see the thread I bumped up for you recently? If not, I'll bump it up again but you need to keep an eye out as it could soon be shifted lower down the list with other conversations going.

Will bump now. Hope it helps.

Glad you got the email ok and hopefully you saw the samples of other sites on the other thread. Just contact me if you want one later. If you've only recently advertised on the online sites, give it time as it can take a while for some to show up!

Good luck

It took me five months of advertising to get going
try advertising in local health centres and shops.

It is a good idea to ring your local childcare information service to get on their website and for advice on who your local ncma support group officer is they will often have parents who ask for minders.

nikki - are you actually getting any phone calls in the first place from your ads?

FeelingOld · 19/02/2006 10:23

I am part of my local childminder group and we meet weekly at a stay and play session. I have got about 50% of my work through them eg if one of us gets a phone call and we can't fit the child in we would pass on the phone numbers of any childminder in our group to the parent who think might be able to accomodate them.
Also I live on a main road so bought a cd rom which makes posters and when I have a vacancy I put a poster up in my porch and that's where I have got the other 50% of my mindees from, and I am now full as I have 8 part-timers.
Don't know if any of this would help you but good luck.
