Contract Help......

Hi
I have some parents coming round very soon to discuss contract. New to this and hate this bit!
Basically when I first registered was only going to do term time only, decided against that now but have 6 weeks holiday booked. Not all in one lump! Feb half term, Easter for 2 weeks and 2 weeks at start of summer 1 at end.
Don't know what to do re charges. Do I say no fee for when I'm on hol and half for them?
What about Christmas?
Oh help, they will be here in just over an hour and I'm going to pieces!
BTW, its twins, 2 days per week, works out about £70 per day, thank you so much
Frankie

i charge nothing if i am on hols and half if they are
as long as you give them all your holiday dates well in advance you should be ok. good luck.

helsi · 16/02/2006 12:51

I agree with bfcmdr. No charge when you are on holiday but half when they are. make sure like has been said you give them the dates as soon as you can.

HellyBelly · 16/02/2006 13:04

I charge nothing when I'm on hols but full rate when they are.

nzshar · 16/02/2006 13:07

Im the same as HellyBelly i charge nothing for my holidays and full for theirs

frankieb · 16/02/2006 13:23

Hi Thanks
She knows about holidays already and is OK with them, I told her I didn't charge when I was unavailable at the initial meet.
I hate all this nitty gritty stuff!
OK, fingers crossed for 2pm then!

i don't charge my hols but they pay me when they are away. if they book there hols and i go away at the same time they still pay full fee

Jensmum · 16/02/2006 14:05

I take 4 weeks full pay and so do the parents by their choice I was only going to do half pay for me and full for them.

As I only have 2 mindees that are siblings it works out that I've already had a full week off, plus about 6 day's here and there. She has booked another 6 weeks with me and that's before I take my holidays which are at different times to hers.

It going to sound daft but I'm not actually looking forward to all the time off, I like having the children here and I won't know what to do with myself without them here.

Sorry my message was no help what so ever was it?

Hope the contract signing goes OK for you.

How old are the twins?

frankieb · 16/02/2006 17:38

Hi
Thanks
All went fine, she had used a childminder previously which does help when you come to contracts and discussions.
They start on 3rd March.
Thanks for the advice
Frankie
