Hi all

I have my 1st ofsted visit on Wednesday and I'm very nervous. Can anyone give me any tips or pointers on what I should expect??

They are coming to help you as much as check your house etc, don't be afraid to ask anything you're wondering about.

Just read up on the eyfs as they may ask you questions and safeguarding.

They're not as scary as you expect honestly, good luck!

That's ok then, my husband is more worried coz it's been too wet to cut the grass!

I have my pre reg visit on Thursday. Am sat here with the statutory framework on my lap reading through and trying to make sure I have all the paperwork, activity planning etc they might want to look at.

Get down on your hands and knees and have a crawl around. You may be able to spot things that could cause problems - glass doors on cabinets (are they kite marked? If not may need safety film adding).

Multi-Cultral - what things do you have already that show different cultures, disabilities (dinosaur with a missing leg - that's an easy one... use a small hack saw to remove a dinosaur's leg ). Make a list of things you may well get in the future - on a 1st visit, inspector wants to see that you have been thinking about things, not always about buying things immediately.

As others have said.. Safeguarding - they're very hot on that at the mo..
Risk Assessments too
Policies - Although I seem to think with the new EYFS theyre not as hot on them, dont know prehaps someone else can tell you, Ill be keeping mine however.
Cant think of anything else at the mo..
