Childminders Club: What should I do (quite urgent)

Hi guys

I'm due to have my new baby mindee starting tomorrow, just the one day.

Unfortunately I've got a horrible urine infection and the Dr's just been round as I couldn't wait for the appointment they had this evening. Anyway, dh has gone out to get the prescription and the Dr has advised me to double up on the first lot as it's quite bad and this will help it start working quicker. She said I'll feel quite doped up today but it will be worth it.

I asked her how quick these tend to work as I've got baby tomorrow and she said I should be a little better if I double up but obviously it won't be gone.

Do you think I should call the mum to let her know but say I hope to be working or should I just leave it til later to see how I feel?

I need to let her know by tonight (if poss) if I'm not working as she drops off at 6.45am.

I really hope to be able to work as I'm worried how it will look on her first day - just bad timing!

What would you do?

I'd let her know now rather than leave it till later. I'd be annoyed if I was the mum that I couldn't make alternative arrangements because my childminder hadn't told me till the evening before she was due to have my child that she couldn't.

Hope you feel better soon.

That's what i thought, thanks, really not thinking too straight today Suppose I was just hoping to feel better and not need to let her down! I'll call now. Thanks

Phoned and she was lovely and said she knows how bad they can be so understands. I've told her I'll phone her later if I've not improved and she also said she's going to work later tomorrow so will bring her round at 7.30am instead of 6.45am which is a help!

Thanks again motherfunkerhunkermunker - I needed a message like that to give me the boot to call (was worried about making the call!).

Right, had my 2 pills, got cranberry juice so dh needs to make me lunch then I'm off back to bed!

Drink loads of water as well and get resting.

Guess you are not over tomorrow?

motherfunkerhunkermunker · 13/02/2006 14:56

Really hope you feel better soon. Glad I helped you make the right decision!

jellyjelly - was going to email you once I'd given it a few hours as Dr said with doubling up on anti-biotics and drinking cranberry juice and water, she hoped I feel much better (i.e. not the agony on my left kidney i had) so I wanted to see what happens. Well, I've just got up from bed and can't believe the horrible pain has gone already . Hurts to go etc. but MUCH better So as long as don't get worse again, I will be working tomorrow! Can I call you in the morning to say whether or not I'm ok to come? I would still like to if well enough.

motherfunkerhunkermunker - yes you did, thanks
